Maria J. Gonzalez is an associate in the firm’s Miami office. Ms. Gonzalez earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, where she granted Cum Laude. Ms. Gonzalez excelled academically and earned the Dean’s List honor distinction several semesters.

While completing her legal education, Ms. Gonzalez served as vice president of the International Law Society, competed on the International Moot Court team, worked as a research assistant on employment law issues, and served as a Miami Law ambassador to prospective students. She also helped underserved populations receive access to legal assistance as a student attorney in the UM immigration clinic.

Prior to joining the Carlson Law Firm, Ms. Gonzalez practiced at a boutique bankruptcy firm, representing trustees, debtors, and creditors in bankruptcy court. Ms. Gonzalez now focuses her practice in the areas of construction litigation and general insurance defense.
